To ensure accurate measurements we suggest having a professional seamstress measure you. If you do not get a professional seamstress to take your measurements you should follow this guide to ensure proper fit.
Please Note: You should always have someone else take your measurements; physically measuring yourself will provide you with inaccurate numbers, so please have someone help you.
Chest or Bust: Not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. You must wear a bra when taking this measurement.
Waist: This is the smallest part of your waist. Typically it's an inch or so above your belly button. Also known as the natural waistline.
Hip: This is the widest part of your hips, across the hipbone. Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline.
Waist to Hem: Start the tape at the waist at and measure down to where you want the hem. If your skirt will be full, be sure to measure out at an angle to allow for the fullness. Also, be sure you are wearing the same height heel you'll wear on your good day. (The measurement of waist to floor is very helpful to have.)
Hollow to Hem: Start the tape at the hollow at the base of your neck and measure down to where you want the hem. If your skirt will be full, be sure to measure out at an angle to allow for the fullness. Also, be sure you are wearing the same height heel you'll wear on your good day. (The measurement of hollow to floor is very helpful to have.)
Arm Girth: Measure around the largest part of your upper arm, see picture. (only needed for dress with sleeves)
Inside Sleeve: start the tape in your armpit and measure your straight arm to the wrist. (only needed for dress with sleeves)
Across Shoulders: Measure edge to edge across shoulder area.
Bust Cup, Height and Neck Circumference: are help full measurements for some styles.
In order to have the best possible experience, we strongly recommend that you have your measurements taken by a professional before buying any gown online
